Fernando Tondato, MD, PhD

Fernando Tondato MD, PhD, originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, received his medical degree in 1992 followed by specializations in Clinical Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Tondato obtained his postgraduate degree in January 2002, then completed the Fellowship program in Cardiac Electrophysiology at SJTRI in 2004 and was promoted to Senior Scientist. Dr. Tondato has published 6 peer reviewed papers, 2 book chapters and 14 abstracts.

Fernando Tondato is the study director for several preclinical projects with focus on arrhythmogenicity related to cell therapy and tissue engineering and studies testing new technologies in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, like new ablation catheters and techniques or new implantable devices. He is also the study director or principal investigator in for two submitted SBIR/NIH grants. Dr Tondato also serves as the Coordinator of SJTRI’s Fellowship Program. Read More
